Lloyd Timberlake has focused on business and sustainable development since he began working with Swiss entrepreneur Stephan Schmidheiny to establish the predecessor to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in 1991.
Before that he was a journalist, and has reported from more than 65 countries, mainly on environment and development issues. Lloyd Timberlake has written prize-winning books under his own name (Africa in Crisis, Only One Earth, When the Bough Breaks) and books for organizations such as the Brundtland Commission, the WBCSD, and the UN Environment Programme.
